Bugger Off: They Came From Verminest

|
Locomalito, the mastermind behind such games as Viriax and L'Abbaye des Morts, has released a new swarm upon the unsuspecting world. They Came From Verminest is a shoot-em-up recently graduated from The Galaga Academy. Pew, pew, pew! You can download it directly from the author's site for the low price of naught, along with some fancy PDF documents, posters and trading cards.

It boasts a "Traditional Arcade look and feel" meaning it's tall and narrow, getting devilishly hard as you advance from planet to planet. There are five of those in total, each with it's own pretty landscape, pesky enemies, and a bossmanbug. Along the way you will uncover power-ups that will give your pesticide the extra "oopmh" you always dreamed of. For those among you who enjoy wearing silly spaceman goggles, there's a 3D viewing mode, as a probably-not-very-useful-but-headache-inducing addition. Also, the game positively reeks of B-movies, as you can see from the trailer below.

Nice and cheesy. Don't think about it too much, it's free.
